Week 33 Haircut from a 2 year old September 8, 2014

Hola familia y amigos!

So monday, after our zone meeting, we set up a volley ball net outside and played about 50 games of volleyball. We also made Mexican style hot dogs...with tons of spicy salsa of course. Food here isn't food unless your mouth is on fire. It was a lot of fun...and it was even more fun because my team went undefeated...we stayed on the court the entire time because no one could get us off.

Afterwards, we headed home and I got my hair cut...she butchered it! One thing is for sure...Mexicans don't cut hair...I can't wait to get a good American hair cut! Oh well I guess...

Tuesday we started teaching a 21 year-old guy who's an atheist. It was the first time I have ever taught someone who didn't believe in God or Jesus Christ but it was cool to see how interested he was in our message. He couldn't believe how sure we were that God existed and wanted to know how he could be as sure as us. He's a super great guy. He used to be a cocaine addict and a millionaire drug-dealer but decided to change his life around. When he was 13 years old, his dad bought him an apartment and kicked him out of the house. He's been living on his own ever since. He's also a professional yo-yoist (I don't know what they're actually called). It is insane what he can do with a yo yo!

My companion, Hermana Bennett, also bought some hair cutting scissors so that she could fix my hair... So, Tuesday night, I had my comp fix my hair and she actually did a really good job. My hair no longer looks like a two year old who decided to cut their own hair!

Wednesday it rained ALL DAY! It started raining at about 11:00 AM and lasted until we went home that night. Bennett and I were walking on the sidewalk to a lesson (let me remind you that it had been raining all day so the rain gutters had about a foot of water in them) when out of nowhere came a car coming full speed down the street straight towards us. There was a wall to my left and a river to my right....we had nowhere to run. The car came and sped right through the river, rooster-tailing gallons of rain water onto us... We were left standing on the sidewalk, soaked from head to toe...and I was not happy. But what else can you do besides get a good laugh out of it? So, my comp. and I stood there soaking wet laughing (along with all of the other Mexicans in the streets that thought it was pretty funny too).

Have you ever had a Mexican beg you to let him give you a massage? No? Well, I have! And if you say no, at least a foot massage...I mean come on! Jesus washed his disciples feet right?! We had a short, bald, chubby man walk up to us in the street and offer us free full body massages. Of course we told him no..but he wasn't having no for an answer. He reminded us that we were missionaries and that we did a lot of walking and that all he was asking was to be able to give a representative of Jesus Christ a massage. We told him no for the billionth time and he walked away...ANGRY. When he got about 10 feet away he turned around and yelled, "Jesus washed his disciples feet ya know!", and continued on his way. We got a good laugh out of that one.

Getting' my independence day on
Friday we found a family of 4 that are really interested in hearing the gospel. They willingly came to church and loved it! I LOVE FINDING FAMILIES! Later we passed an ice cream man on the street selling blackberry and cheese ice cream....my new favorite! At about 9:00 PM we started heading home for the night when I looked over to see Hermana Bennett's feet sparking...I thought they were on fire! She immediately started to jump up and down and scream but she couldn't get away from it. I had no idea what to do so I just watched it play out... About a minute later the sparks stopped and I noticed a group of drunk Mexican guys playing with fire works... they had thrown fireworks at us thinking it was funny. After I made sure my comp. was ok and everything, I thought it was pretty funny too haha.
Afraid of getting your car stolen?
We had a bunch of people at church this week and more and more people are inviting their non-member friends to church. The ward is finally starting to realize the importance of helping the missionaries out with missionary work. Afterwards we headed to go eat dinner with a family we had met the other day on the street. The family made us pozole and basically wanted to eat with us so that we could explain to them what we are doing here in Mexico City. They are a "christiana" family and believe a lot of the same things...they could almost pass for being LDS. They don't want anything to do with the gospel but the Pozole sure tasted good!

That's about it for this week!

I know without a doubt that this is the true church. Families change by living the gospel like you couldn't imagine. When we keep the commandments and do our best to do what's right, God is OBLIGATED to bless us. We have his promise. What more of a reason do we need to do all we can and to work our very hardest? When times get tough, turn to the Lord. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He's already suffered it. He knows how to help us. I never in my life planned on serving a mission...but that's what God had in store for me. Sometimes things don't go the way we want them to...sometimes we think we know better...but God knows the reason for everything. The church is true. God lives. Christ lives. And they love us. If you don't have a testimony or your testimony isn't as strong as you would like, pray to Him! He WILL answer your prayers. He is always listening.

I love you all to pluto and back!

Week 32 September 1, 2014

Me and Bob Marley....
What a LONG week!

Not a lot has happened this week... just the same day to day missionary activities: walking and preaching! It has been a pretty tough week though... things just didn’t seem to go our way. The worst part was that one of our investigators that was progressing really well texted us Saturday night saying that she didn’t want to be baptized in our church and that she was fine in the Catholic church. Opening that text message was like one big blow to the gut! Backing out with a text is like breaking up with a boyfriend via text…..LAME! BUT...you just have to make the best of things…even when they don’t go the way you’d like. When you keep pushing forward with a positive attitude, things always turn out in the end.

Update: The Aylaya family is awesome!!! The family members who didn’t get baptized are progressing so fast it’s insane! (except for a couple who are very set in their Catholic ways)

Thanks for the package mom!
I was walking through the Tianguis the other day feeling down when I noticed a lady selling Habanero chile peppers....and I got the best idea ever... I bought 4 GIANT habanero chile peppers and took them back to my apartment. Later...we had a throw down with the other two Elders in our area. A habeñero chile eating contest. WE DIED!!! When you start eating it, it tastes like a normal bell pepper....about 5 minutes later...death hits. All four of us were dying, crying and sweating buckets. But, being the competitive me...I finished every last bite of that habenero pepper! What started as a good idea ended in tears...but it was worth it!

Mildred (the 9 year old girl we have been teaching) finally got baptized! Her uncle got things figured out and was able to baptize her...he was SO excited. It was pretty cute to see him walk up to the Elders and ask them to show him how to baptize...and it was especially funny to see him practicing on Elder Hunsaker (a 6’3” American). The primary decorated, bought a cake, and prepared a musical number...it was a really awesome baptism.

Yesterday we were walking through the Tianguis when the ice cream man stopped us and gave us a GIGANTIC cup of ice cream...for FREE! The Elders in my zone hate me because people always give me free stuff. I guess that’s what I get for being a white girl in Mexico City :)
My mom thinks I'm obese
(to be fair...I sent her some new skirts and this was the only one left. It has a draw string and was one sale....I couldn't pass it up)
Funny story: The other day we were eating lunch at a member’s house with the Elders. We walked in and greeted everyone. One of the members asked Elder Garrett (the new elder that doesn’t know how to speak Spanish quite yet) how he was doing and he replied, “Estoy muy muy bueno!” with about as much enthusiasm as you can imagine. What he didn’t know is that when the member asked him how he was he replied, “I’m SUPER HOT!” It was hilarious. Everyone busted up laughing so hard.

That’s about it for this week! I love you all to the moon and back! Until next week!

Hermana Ingram

Photo explanations...

Every Sunday after church we see the same mangy dog in the street... We call it Bob (because it has dreads like Bob Marley). I’ve always wanted a picture with it but haven’t been able to get one because there have always been people in the street. But this week I finally got the picture! Cutest dog ever right?? (photo at the top of the post)

There is a truck that roams the streets selling chicken feet...the people here LOVE eating chicken feet! I flagged the truck down and bought 7 GIANT chicken feet. Did I buy them to eat them?? NO!! I just bought them for the picture nada más! haha I also bought some flour tortillas from a lady pushing a cart in the street. And they were delicious! (Buying food in the street always comes with the risk of getting deathly sick...but I’m only going to live in Mexico once! It’s worth the risk!

Adios!

Week 31 Slumber Party with the Stutznegger's August 25, 2014

Best Lunes ever!!! (Hailey didn't email last week because of this adventure) We got permission from President Stutznegger to go as a district to the pyramids in Teotihuacan. We woke up early Monday morning, met up as a district and took a bus...or should I say 5 different buses. It took us almost 3 hours to get there but it was SO worth the travel time. The main pyramid is gigantic!!! I don't know how in the world they built it...CRAZY! We climbed it and the view from the top was super green and amazing. And the craziest part about the whole thing was that there were other white people there! Tall, white, English-speaking people!!! I forgot they even existed! We headed back down and stopped at a few shops and I put my bargaining to the test...you should've seen their faces when I started to speak Spanish. It was so great to get out of the city and see something other than old houses and mangy dogs! haha

We also figured out how to use the oven!! We had to light the pilot light etc. One thing about Mexico is that no one...repeat NO ONE...knows how to use an oven other than for storing pots and pans. So...we figured it out!!! And to celebrate we made brownies and ate them with ice cream! YUM!!

We were teaching some of our investigators on Wednesday and we started out with a prayer. We all folded our arms, bowed our heads, and shut our eyes and I began praying. About halfway through the prayer, I heard the door open and someone walked in...it was their 95 year-old great grandma. I continued praying but was interrupted by her yelling, "What in the name of Baby Jesus and the Virgin Mary are ya'll doing in here?! Sleeping?" She then walked around the room to each of us yelling, "Wake up you little devils! Wake up!" I couldn't continue...It was so hilarious! I gathered myself..and explained to her that we weren't sleeping but that we were praying and tried my best to finish the prayer. Viejitas...

We left the lesson and were contacted by a 90 year-old man asking us if we could teach him the word of God. We said of course and he asked us where he could see us. We replied that on Sunday he could come to church with us. He replied, "Ok perfect! I'll see you on Sunday! And after....we're going on a date to the movies!" We told him we were "taken"... He got pretty sad after that one and said, "Well....I'm turning 91 next month....and I REALLY love gueras!!" Creepy old men....you're 90 for crying out loud!

In case you were wondering :)
Thursday we woke up early to go running as usual and when I walked out the front door onto the street I saw something that I haven't seen in over 8 months....STARS!! And my favorite constellation: Orion. I kind of just sat there and took it in...THAT'S what I miss about my house!!

We started teaching a lady that drinks fresh Iguana blood... completely normal right? She gave us quite the explanation too...too much information!

Changes were on Tuesday.. I didn't have changes, which means I'm going to be in my area for a little longer. They also split my area and put two Elders in our ward which is going to be awesome and I can already tell that our ward is going to improve even more than it already is. Their names are Elder Hunsaker (from Utah) and a brand new Elder named Elder Garret (from Tennessee). And Elder Garrett has type 1 diabetes!! What?! If you know anything about diabetes, that doesn't happen! He's also ranked number 8 in the world at playing Super Smash Brothers...he payed for his mission by playing in tournaments...crazy stuff. (Hailey's younger brother has type 1 diabetes and has been told that he probably won't be called to a mission outside of the US. That explains her surprise)

This picture was taken in President Stutznegger's house as Hailey was typing this email.
Yesterday = Best day ever! After church we met up with the President and his wife to spend the night at their house. Long story short, my permanent retainer started to come off so the President booked me an appointment with a dentist near his house. So, we got to stay the night at their house. Let me tell you...going to their house was like going from sleeping on the streets to sleeping at the Marriott.
The first time I have walked barefoot my entire mission!

They're going to have to drag me out of here! Dish washer, stove, fridge, mirrors, hot water, piano, tables, I could go on forever! The first thing they did was give us a house tour followed by two bowls of ice cream followed by a great dinner.
We slept in the most comfortable beds ever...the only problem was that I've gotten so used to sleeping on rock hard beds that I had a tough time sleeping...I almost considered sleeping on the floor but I toughed it out. (It reminds me of the movie 'The Other Side of Heaven' when even after his mission he continues to sleep on the floor...mom, get the floors ready for when I get home in 9 months;))
One thing is for sure....the Mexico City Southeast Mission has the best President and President's wife in the entire world! Those other missionaries out there are missing out!!! Today I'll be going to the dentist.....and it kind of worries me...the dentist here do the weirdest things to teeth...don't be surprised if next week I end up with a mouth full of metal or something...wish me luck!:)

Talking to President and Sister Stutznegger has made me realize how much English I've forgotten. It has been hard to remember English words.  And he laughs at me because apparently I speak with a funny accent.

The area that they live in is SUPER nice and is really safe (safe enough that I pulled my camera out and spoke English without feeling like I was going to be murdered)
El Dentista
...The dentist was a success! They reattached my permanent retainer and only charged me $45.

Hasta la próxima semana,
Hermana Ingram
Hailey couldn't get enough of this beautiful house.
*Hailey and her companion were blessed to be able to spend some time with the Stutznegger's today. They ate, shopped, and had a successful dental appointment (according to Pres. S) They also share an affinity for Coke Zero :) Here are some more of the pics that she sent home today:

Week 30 Almost half way! August 11, 2014

INGRAM....can you see it?
¡Hola familia y amigos!

Today I hit the big OCH-O! I can't believe that in a month I'll have served half of my mission! LOCO!

Anyway...this week went pretty well...just the normal ups and downs of the mission!

Tuesday was pretty rough... Later in the day we were walking to the Ayala Family's house (the family we baptized Sunday) and we noticed that they were all outside in the street. As I got closer, I could tell that there was something wrong...they were on phones, crying, panicked... They came to me in tears asking if I could help them or if I knew of anyone that could help them. I won't go into details..but what had happened was BAD. Aranza (the 14 year-old) was hysterical....Ernesto was physically shaking uncontrollably and to be honest it freaked me out. What a mess.... I was worried that they were going to think that this all had something to do with their baptism.. Just a few days before the baptism, Maria had told me that she was unsure about getting baptized because she couldn't give up her "virgincita" (the virgin Mary). She told me that by giving her up, God was going to punish her...and now this?? I remember our old president telling us that we needed to be prepared for things like this because the adversary always works double time with investigators when they're about to be baptized and right after their baptism...and it's SO TRUE! You wouldn't believe the things that happen! He knows that by opening the door of baptism, the lives of these people are going to change and that they are going to be blessed by living the gospel...and he is willing to do whatever it takes to stop them. This Sunday in one of the classes, the teacher mentioned something that is so true..he told us that Satan isn't in the bars or on the streets with the "borrachos" (drunks)...he is busy trying to destroy the lives of the people who are trying to do what's right. He wants us to be miserable even as he is... Anyway...no worries because the family got confirmed and are progressing in the gospel...woo hoo!

Wednesday...was pretty tough too... I woke up at about midnight SICK. I was throwing up for the next 5 hours...I'd go back to bed and wake up 15 minutes later running to the bathroom. Usually we get up early to go running but I couldn't do it... It's the worst being sick on the mission because no matter how sick you are, you feel guilty if you're not up and working..you never feel like you can just take a day off and rest. I decided that no matter how sick I was feeling I was going to get up and go to work for the day...I felt so sick...but we left and went to work. Even lifting my arm above my head felt like it required all the energy in the world... BUT despite being in the bathroom in every lesson that day..we made the best of it! We ended the day by visiting the Ayala Family and teaching a very spiritual lesson about the Atonement...they cried the whole time...it was pretty sad...but thank goodness for the Atonement!!!

Thursday we headed over to teach a less active named Nelly who is in a wheel chair because she lost the use of her legs. When we got there she told us she couldn't meet with us because she was doing her laundry. I asked her if we could help her and she told us no...but thanks. Are you kidding?! I wasn't about to take no for an answer...so I walked right in and went to work washing everything by hand. It's amazing what that lady is capable of doing... We finished and she gave us a big teary-eyed thank you. Service is the best! And when you pray for opportunities to serve people...opportunities ALWAYS come!

Helping Nelly with her laundry
Friday we got money for lunch so we decided to stop by a wood-burning brick oven stand and buy half of a rotisserie chicken, some "bolillos" (rolls), and a bottle of BBQ. We practically ate lunch in the US!
Mom, you would have been proud of this salad I made
Saturday we visited Mildred (9 year-old investigator) to make sure everything was still good to go for the baptism the next day. She told me she had something to show me...ran out of the room and came back with a book and the most excited smile on her face. She handed me her book which was entitled "Mi libretto de deseos" (My Little Book of Desires) and told me to read it. Inside was a list and number one on the list was: Quiero ser la Hermana Ingram (I want to be Sister Ingram).. SO CUTE!! If I could baptized all of the little girls here, we'd baptize millions!!!

Domingo = Day of Stress. And a lot of it! Our investigators got confirmed so that was a relief. Mildred? Long story short....she didn't get baptized... BUT...things happen for a reason...and you've just got to keep pushing forward! When things don't work out the way you want...you just have to take it head on and stay happy. Like I always say: The best things in life aren't easy!

¡ÉCHENLES GANAS ESTA SEMANA! Les quiero mucho!

Week 29 Crickets Taste like Peanuts August 4, 2014

My favorite candy in Mexico
¡Hola!

Another GREAT week!

Monday we had an awesome FHE with the Lopez family. Hermana Lopez is already the member of all members. She has about 3 weeks as a member and she's already kicking everyone's trash! She put on a family home evening like no one's ever seen! A mormon message, game, dinner (Pozole...my FAVORITE food here in Mexico), and a dessert activity. She does it better than my family (no offense mom,;))!

This week has been great. We didn't have to spend hours and hours searching for people to teach. Almost every house we went to opened up and we were able to get a lesson in. The best is when you go to a contact's house, knock, and they come and say, "Pasense"....you kind of have to think twice...did they REALLY just invite me in??

Tuesday we ended the day going to the Ayala Family's house and the Elders came to do the baptismal interviews. Do you have any idea how good it feels to fill out 6 cedulas???!!!! They were a little mad though....they wanted "Hermana Ingram" to baptize them and were pretty devastated when I told them that I couldn't. haha

My companion and I have been waking up early for the past two weeks to go running...(not going to lie...I kind of force her to...haha). Thursday we got up early as usual and headed outside to run. I started running down the street, hit the end and started making my way back when I heard footsteps behind me. (Let me remind you that at 6:00AM it's pitch black) I turned around to see what was behind me to see a homeless man running towards me at full speed. Can you say....scary!!!??? I started to run faster but to no use...you would have thought Usaine Bolt was behind me; this guy was fast! He caught up to me and began running on my right side. I looked at him and the expression on his face was priceless...he was looking straight ahead with the biggest, toothless smile I've ever seen...pure joy. I could tell he wasn't going to do me any harm so I kept running and he kept right up with me. When I got to the other end of the block I thought he'd just keep going when I turned around...but NOPE! He turned around with me and exercised with me the rest of the morning...smiling the entire time. I should put on a homeless man exercising program here or something. haha.

I ate crickets this week! They weren't all that bad either! Once I got the thought of eating bugs out of my mind they tasted a lot like salted peanuts but a little crunchier. Patricio (the Lopez's 2 year old son) was eating them by the handful! Apparently he confuses the dead ones for the live ones he finds outside and eats those too....yuck!

Highlight of the week: After a lot of blood, sweat and tears (literally) we baptized the Ayala family this week! We were supposed to baptize 6 of them but two of them had to work...hopefully we can get things worked out for next week:)

That's about it for this week! LES AMO MUCHÍSIMO!

Hermana Ingram

You know you're a missionary in Mexico when:
1) cat calls become at a 20x a day occurrence
2) you drink more coke in the day than water
3) you forget how to speak English
4) you have to trek barrels of clean drinking water to your house every week
5) you aren't afraid to go inside a strange Mexican man's house

Week 28 A Long Week July 28, 2014

I've gotten permission to run so I've been running every morning. I had to pull the famous Amie Ingram heel click.
¡Hola!

Una semana bien laaarrrrggggooooo!

Tuesday a man contacted us in the street asking us how he could become Mormon like us. By being baptized of course! We explained that we could visit him at his house and teach him about the word of God. Turns out he doesn't live here...he lives like 2 hours away...I told him that there were missionaries where he lived that would be able to teach him the same message but he insisted that we be the ones to teach him. "Ya I've seen them in my area before....a brown-skinned boy and a white boy...but 2 white girls is so much better!" We've been being contacted by all kinds of people lately! And the only thing they're interested in is having two "gueras" (white girls) come over and preach the word of God. Considering painting my skin brown and dying my hair black...what do you think?;)
Me with the Nezahualcoyotl statue
Why such a long week you ask? EVERYONE is on vacation...which means that NO ONE has been home. Friday we literally spent 4 hours walking our area passing by every member in our ward...and not a single person opened up... 30 houses and NOTHING! A little extra exercise anyone? Frustrating...but it's during the hard times that you have to keep pushing forward...and when you do, something good always turns up.

Saturday we were able to find 4 new investigators....all of that walking paid off!! We also had a Family Home Evening with some of our investigators. We brought the iron rod puzzle that I had made. They made fried plantains topped with sweetened and condensed milk for dessert. FHE's are one of my favorite things out here on the mission. Afterwards we headed to a family of investigators to teach them and remind them to come to church the next day. When I asked the dad told me that they were leaving early the next morning and that they weren't going to be able to come to church. When I asked where they were going they replied, "To see Jesus." What?? So, apparently they're skipping church to go and "see Jesus"...that's a good reason right?

Sunday: pretty great day! President Stutznegger and his wife attended our ward yesterday and spoke. EVERYONE was paying attention...and the spirit was super strong. We also had 2 baptisms! Ivan and Luis Lopez FINALLY got baptized! It's about time right!? And even better, Omar (their dad) was able to get the priesthood and baptize his two sons. He was so happy to be able to baptize them.
Now they're preparing as a family to be able to enter the temple in a year and the two boys are already talking about serving missions. One word: GOLDEN! After the baptism, we headed over to their house for lunch. About halfway through cooking the gas ran out...so we opted into lighting coals and BBQing...Yummy!!!

That's about it for this week… But I love you all! Viva México!!

Hermana Ingram

You know you're serving a mission in Mexico when....
1) Hot Shower = waking up early and sticking an iron in a bucket of water
2) Everyone and their mom owns a dog.
3) It's prohibited to flush toilet paper down the toilet.
4) EVERYTHING you eat is fried.
5) You see a family of 6 drive by on a single moped scooter.
6) You run the trash out to the garbage man and his horse pulling a garbage cart.
7) Midnight snack = salsa verde tamale. (The tamale man walks the streets at night yelling, ¨TAMALES!!!¨)
Soccer with the Lopez family

Week 27 Viva France? July 21, 2014

The Nezahualcoyotl Zone (France)
¡Hola!

What a week!

We had interviews this week with the new president and I can already tell that the mission is going to change for the better. I can't express enough how excited I am to have him as a mission president. I've been able to see how much my testimony has grown while being out on the mission...it's grown mountains! I know that when we do things the way the Lord wants, he's OBLIGATED to bless us. Sometimes it's hard...I mean how can waking up at EXACTLY at 6:30AM decide if I have success or not? As hard as it is sometimes...EXACT obedience counts! The president made us a promise that with hard work and exact obedience, we will start to baptize and have success like never before...I have no doubt that it's true...and I'm going to put it to the test.
A puzzle I made to teach kids about the iron rod and Lehi's dream
So a lot has been happening with Ivan and Luis (Lopez)...they were supposed to have their baptism a long time ago..but things just kept coming up. This week we got everything planned out for their baptism..and everything was all set and ready to go for Sunday. I was SO excited that they were finally going to get baptized! It was about time! Sunday came and as we were walking to church I got a message from their family....and I couldn't believe it. A relative of theirs had died THAT morning and they had left immediately to the funeral and wouldn't be back until the next day...I was devastated... What are the chances!!!??? But no worries...they'll be baptized this week :)
I got a little bored at lunch :)
We were able to find some new investigators this week which is always awesome. Last week we had contacted a lady in the street who accepted an appointment. The next day we went to her house to teach her and a lady walked in with a teenage girl asking if we could help them too. We ended up teaching the contact, her daughter, and the daughter of the daughter. The next day we visited them and 3 more relatives asked us if we could teach them. The next day 2 more...a miracle! It's an entire house of people ready to hear the gospel! And all from one contact!
People just don't seem to be accepting our contacts lately....It gets to the point where I want to explode! If one more person says, "Tengo prisa", "otro día", or "Leo mí Biblia, Gracias"...so help me! These people just don't know what they're missing! Saturday we visited the Lopez Family with the district leaders to do the interviews for their two sons. As we finished, one of the Elders made a comment about having to go and teach some of his investigators. Hermana Lopez commented, "Hey...take the Hermanas with you...and I promise you they'll get baptized!" She then went on about how the Hermanas teach with more power, patience, etc. I don't know how true that is but I'm not saying it's a lie ;) She then asked us a question: "If a complete stranger walked up to you in the street and offered you a bag full of gold, would you accept it?" We thought about it for a few minutes and replied that we would probably be a little nervous to accept it...you'd think there would be other motives involved and we would probably walk away. She then continued by comparing the bag of gold to the message we bring to the people of Mexico. We talk to hundreds of people every week....and almost all of them don't accept us. They're walking away from something worth more than all of the gold in the entire world!!! But there is always someone that's willing to accept our "bag of gold"...and she was one of them.

Hermana Benson and me. And a poster I made for our zone for the soccer tournament.

The Nezahualcoyotl Zone in a micro (small bus)

Sports! I miss sports!!!!!! Today we got to play soccer as a mission. Each zone was given a country (we were France) and we got jerseys, socks, and shorts. I was able to get #10! Just like the good old days! (I had to fight for that number!) It felt so good to get out on the field and play! None of the Elders in my zone knew that I had played soccer before and were super reluctant to put any of the sisters in...15 minutes had passed in the game and I just couldn't stand it any longer...so I asked to be put it...you could tell by the looks on their faces that they didn't really want to...but when I finally got in there...I never came back out! You could say the mission was just a tad surprised ;) We lost but I had a blast...I hope we'll be able to play again in the future.

That's about it for this week! But I love you all!
